HDD-Interface: IDE-HD + Sata-HD / Einstellungen?

Hallo,

ich hab eine Nokia 2xI Kabelbox mit JTG 2.3 Image und dem Sata-Ide-Interface von Bastian.
Intern ist eine 80GB 2,5" Ide-Festplatte montiert, an den Ide-Port des HDD-Interface angeschlossen, mit EXT2 formatiert, welche einwandfrei funktioniert.
Lt. Telnet ist diese Festplatte als Part2 gemounted.

Nun möchte ich noch eine 250 GB 3,5"-Sata-Festplatte (mit eigener Stromversorgung), mit EXT2 formatiert, an den Sata-Port des HDD-Interfaces anschließen.
Dazu habe ich den Jumper Sata-Enabled/Disabled offen (also Sata-aktiviert) und den Jumper Sata-Master/Slave ebenfalls offen (also Sata ist Slave, entsprechend meiner Annahme, dass damit Ide der Master ist).

Im Harddisk-Menü habe ich weiter eingestelt:
Slave (hdb) mounten = Part3
Filesystem = EXT2

Und nun komme ich nicht weiter, denn die Sata-Platte wird nicht gemounted (auch per Telenet ist nach /mount diese Festplatte nicht gemounted, immer nur die Ide-Platte).
Ich hab auch schon Part4 und Part1 versucht, auch schon unter "erweiterte Einstellungen" Part3 oder Part4 aktiviert.

Die Festplatte ist übrigens definitiv in Ordnung, ich habe sie probehalber schon mal alleine am Sata-Port angeschlossen, da wurde sie einwandfrei erkannt.

Kann mir bitte jemand mal alle notwendigen Einstellungen posten?

Also die Slave-Platte müßte nach meinen Infos mit Part2 gemountet werden.
Das ist natürlich davon abhängig ob Du mit oder ohne SWAP-Partition formatierst.
Am besten vor dem Mounten als Slave die SATA-Platte alleine als Master am Interface anschließen und noch einmal ordentlich in EXT2 formatieren. Danach wieder umswitchen auf Slave sowie IDE-Platte anschließen.

Probiere einmal:
Slave (hdb) mounten = Part2
Filesystem = EXT2

Danke, so funktioniert es.

Ausgerechnet Part2 für Slave hatte ich nicht versucht, weil ich dacht, die Part2 ist ja schon vorhanden, auf der Ide-Platte.
Aber das war ein Denkfehler meinerseits, jede Festplatte zählt ihre Partitionen ja einzeln.

Und hier nochmal eine Kurzanleitung für die Einrichtung, wer auch so etwas vor hat:

- Anschluss der Platten und Jumpereinstellungen wie im ersten Post
- alle JTG-Einstellungen im Harddisk-Setup auf "Werkseinstellungen", also Anschluss = "Master" / Slave = "Aus" / Swap = "Ein",
- "IDE-Treiber laden" wurde nach Einbau des Interfaces auf "Ein" gestellt und die Box neu gestartet

Die Partitionsgröße von Part1 (Swap) und Part2 wird dabei entsprechend der Festplattengröße automatisch eingestellt,
solange im Untermenü "Erweiterte Einstellungen" nichts verändert wurde.


1. Schritt
-> ins Harddisk-Setup Menü gehen
- der Typ der Ide-Platte wird angezeigt

- Filesystem ggf. ändern
- Write Cache HDD ggf. ändern

- Einstellungen speichern, Abfrage Festplatte formatieren -> "Ja"

- Anschluss auf "Slave" umstellen

- Einstellungen speichern (falls Abfrage Festplatte formatieren -> "Nein")

-> D-Box neu starten

2. Schritt
-> ins Harddisk-Setup Menü gehen
- der Typ der Sata-Platte wird angezeigt

- Part2 = "EXT2"
- Write Cache HDD ggf. ändern
- Einstellungen speichern, Abfrage Festplatte formatieren -> "Ja"

- Anschluss auf "Master" umstellen

- Einstellungen speichern (falls Abfrage Festplatte formatieren -> "Nein")

-> D-Box neu starten

3. Schritt
-> ins Harddisk-Setup Menü gehen
... dort wird wieder die Ide-Platte angezeigt, mit entsprechendem freien Platz etc.

Dann mal den Tuxbox-Commander über blaues Menü starten,
wenn alles geklappt hat, findet man in den Verzeichnissen \HDD und \Slave jeweils den Ordner "Lost&Found".

Einfach fdisk nehmen.
In der neuen IDE-Menü Version kann man seine Partitionen dann schön angereiht sehen. Auch die Einrichtung für bereits formatierte Platten dürfte "angenehmer" werden. ;D

Verbindlich kann ich das nicht sagen. Es ist nur leider so, dass es mehr Aufwand ist als es zunächst werden sollte. Dann kommt immer eins zum Anderen und der Zeithabefaktor spielt auch eine wesentliche Rolle. Der ist aber momentan den Umständen entsprechend gut. Sollte es bei den letzten paar Sachen die Tage aber klappen, werde ich das an die Imagebauer verteilen, so dass man das testen kann. ;D

Fdisk gibts auch nicht in diesem Image!

Aber etwas stimmt noch nicht.

Wenn ich TS-Files abpiele, sehe ich nur Ruckler oder Puffern ... Puffern ... Puffern.
Bei allen TS-Files, auf beiden Festplatten!

Die TS-Files liefen übrigens vorher unter meinem Uralt-Image mit Ethernet-Anbindung der Box an einen Asus WLG500 mit NFS-Server mit Uralt-USB-Festplatte absolut sauber!

Keinerlei Verbesserung brachte:
Wapperqeue Ein/Aus
Buffer kleiner/größer
Sectionsd anhalten/nicht anhalten/neustarten
Swap Ein/Aus
Write Cache Ein/Aus
Slave (hdb) mounten Aus

Ein probehalber Kopieren eines 80MB-TS-Files mittels Tuxbox-Commander von der Sata- zur Ide-Festplatte habe ich nach 10 Minuten durch Stecker ziehen beendet, weil ich dachte, die Box hängt.
Die hatte aber wohl doch kopiert, 30 MB in den 10 Minuten...

/edit:
Ein Schreib-Geschwindigkeitstest per Telnet brachte folgende Werte:

time cat /proc/kcore > /hdd/test
real 0m 49.20s
user 0m 0.30s
sys 0m 21.65s

time cat /proc/kcore > /mnt/slave/test
real 0m 45.48s
user 0m 0.29s
sys 0m 23.23s

Das sieht ja nicht schlecht aus.

Aber nun der Lesetest:
time cat /hdd/test > /dev/null
real 5m 27.51s
user 0m 0.40s
sys 0m 21.88s

time cat /mnt/slave/test > /dev/null
Die Telnet-Verbindung habe ich nach 15 Minuten beendet, da die Box sich aufgehängt hatte.

(ich hab den Test mehrfach wiederholt, natürlich vorher immer die test gelöscht, mit immer gleichem Ergebnis)

Ist das erklärbar und auf etwas bestimmtes zurückzuführen, dass das Lesen mit so schlechter Performance erfolgt?
Da muss ja der Movieplayer ruckeln und buffern, oder?

Die vorgenannten Problem sind inzwischen gelöst - Verursacher war ein Hitzestau in der DBox.
Ich hab zufällig nach längerer Betriebszeit mal draufgefasst und war erschrocken, wie heiss sie geworden war.
Da ich diesen Hinweis im Zusammenhang mit inzwischen geloggten Hinweisen, wie lost-interrupt etc., gelesen hatte, hab ich mal nur den Deckel abgeschraubt, das Ide-Kabel etwas angehoben, Box ausgemacht und abkühlen lassen.

Im Betrieb mit geöffnetem Deckel treten nun keine lost-interrupts, keine Ruckler, kein ständiges Puffern und keine Aufnahmeabbrüche mehr auf, die Telnet-Geschwindigkeitstests liegen alle deutlich unter 30 Sekunden.
Noch vorhandene Ruckler und Fehlermeldungen bei Zugriff auf die jetzt vorhandene 750 GB Sata-Platte wurden mit Telnet und e2fsck behoben, da war einiges am Dateisystem korrupt.

Nachvollziehbar treten die Probleme nach einiger Zeit wieder auf, wenn der Deckel drauf ist.
Ok, mit offenem Deckel oder 1-2 nachgerüsteten Gehäuselüftern könnte ich leben.

Momentan gibts nur das Problem, dass sich die Box herunterfährt, wenn ich über das blaue Menü den TuxBox-Commander aufrufen möchte.
Das könnte aber durchaus eine meiner (Boot-) Einstellungen sein, ganz so sicher bin ich nicht, welche nun optimal sind..

Hier mal ein aktuelles Log dazu (nach dem Booten wurde eine Aufnahme gemacht, mal ein TS von jeder Platte abgespielt, dann der Tuxbox-Commander gestartet):

Auch mit eingebauter 2,5" Festplatte und geschlossenem Deckel dürfen keine Ruckler auftreten.
Vorausgesetzt das IDE-Kabel wurde entsprechend der Einbauanleitung verlegt und die Hardware der Box ist 100% OK.

Die Vermutung die ich bereits hatte bestätigt sich durch das Log.
Sieht ganz nach einem Defekt vom Prozessor (XPC823...) aus.
Falls Du Kältespray zu Hand hast und damit nur dem Prozessor punktuell kühlen kannst, sollten die Fehler bei "kühlem" Prozessor und geschlossenem Deckel wieder verschwinden.

Eine passive bzw. aktive Kühlung oder ein offener Deckel wird nur kurzzeitig das Problem beseitigen.
Längerfristig kann das Problem nur durch den Austausch vom Prozessor behoben werden.

Ok, das war eh meine "Reservebox", bisher unbenutzt, darum ist der Fehler auch nie aufgefallen.

Dann werde ich das Interface morgen mal in meine "Hauptbox" versetzen und das Beste hoffen :D

Keine gute Idee, eine solche Platte zu nutzen.
  • 750GB sind zu viel - als Archiv sollte man eine Platte, die in einem solch kleinen Gehäuse untergebracht ist und deren Daten schnell mal verloren gehen, besser nicht einsetzen - zumal es keine praktikable Möglichkeit gibt, gelöschte Dateien wiederherzustellen.
  • Eine 3,5er SATA bietet wesentlich mehr Performance, als eine Dbox benötigt. Performance wird aber i.d.R. durch Wärme erkauft. Es gibt zwar mittlerer Weile Platten, die gerade für Multimedia-Anwendunge konzipiert wurden, also eher wenig Performance bieten, dafür aber einen "kühlen Kopf" behalten, aber an eine normale 2,5er kommen auch diese nicht herran.
  • Allein durch die Baugröße einer 3,5er Festplatte wird die Luftzirkulation einer Box erheblich beeinträchtigt. Gerade die Nokias, die gern etwas wärmer werden, sind dadurch gefährdet.

Ich hab doch noch gestern abend das Interface in meine "Hauptbox" umgebaut und dann über 4-5 Stunden excessiv getestet.

Und ich muss sagen: Klasse Image! Klasse Interface!

Läuft alles wirklich sehr gut, kein einziges Aufhängen oder so.
Und wenn man die Einbauanleitung genau durchliest, gibts auch eigentlich (fast) keine offenen Fragen. :D

Nun muss nur noch die SD-Karte ansprechbar sein, das gelingt mir momentan noch nicht, obwohl ich eigentlich alles richtig gemacht haben dürfte, oder?
(hat 1 GB, wurde mit Fat32 formatiert und es ist "mmc2/vFat" ausgewählt)
Wird die SD-Karte nicht grundsätzlich auch gemountet, wie die Festplatten?


Eine kleine Anregung hätte ich für spätere Images noch:
Wenn "Swap Partition" auf "ein" ist, ist ja die Einstellung unter "Standby Timeout" eigentlich wirkungslos, da durch das ständige Swappen der Timeout nicht greift.
Vielleicht könnte die Option später bei Swap-Ein automatisch ausgegraut oder ein Hinweistext ergänzt werden.
Dann wundert sich niemand mehr darüber, dass die Platte trotz Timeout-Einstellung nicht einschläft. :)

Ich hoffe, dass kam jetzt nicht so rüber, denn diese 750er befindet sich nicht in der Box, sondern sie steht "freiluft" in einem schwingungsdämpfendem Halter neben der Box. Die 80er 2,5" ist in der Box.
Und da ich mir der Problematik Datenverlust durchaus bewußt bin, ist die 750er nur die "Archiv-Abspielplatte" zu der es noch eine 1TB-"Archiv-Sicherungsplatte" gibt, die im Schrank aufbewahrt wird. :wink:
So kann ich im Fehlerfall der "Abspielplatte" relativ schnell meine momentan ca. 500 GB an TS-Filmen zurückspielen und abends wieder gucken. :D


Auf jeden Fall danke ich Euch und besonderst Stingray, für die Hinweise und Hilfestellungen!

Welche Fragen sind denn in der Einbauanleitung noch offen.
Da ich sowieso gerade beim ergänzen bin, wäre eine Hinweis auf offene Fragen hier recht hilfreich.

Für die Nutzung der SD-Karte muß eine Verbindung zum Modemport bestehen bzw. die SD-Karte mit hilfe der Stiftleiste manuell verdrahtet (siehe Einbauanleitung) werden.
Im HDD-Menu, dort wo auch die Einstellungen für die Festplatte gemacht werden können, muß für die SD-Karte der Treiber auf mm2 gesetzt werden.
Je nach dem welches Format die Karte hat muß auch das dort selektiert werden.
Danach die Einstellung abspreichern.
Die SD-Karte sollte nun beim Start automatisch erkannt werden.
Der Ordner für die SD-Karte befindet sich unter /mnt/mmc.

Falls es dennoch nicht funktionieren sollte, bitte ein Bootlog posten.

Die andere Box mit dem defekten Prozessor wird ohne Interface noch ein weile funktionieren.
Allerdings wird sie dann auch bald ähnliche Probleme z.B. Freezer, Abstürze, Bootprobleme machen, bis sie eines Tages gar nicht mehr startet bzw. das Display der Box nur noch grün hinterleuchtet ist.

Das dürfte der aussagekräftigste Ausschnitt des Logs sein, oder?

Ich hab mal die SD-Karte per Telnet mit ext2 formatiert

Code: Alles auswählen

mkfs.ext2 /dev/mmc/disc0/part1
und im Harddisk-Menü auf EXT2 umgestellt,
jetzt wird sie gemountet und ist verfügbar.


@Stingray: Zur FAQ, na Du weisst doch, die Sache mit den (der grünen) Leuchtdioden :wink:
Und vielleicht könntest Du mal alle Bilder der Einbauanleitungen durchschauen, beim Nokia-IDE-Sata sind noch Bilder von einem alten/anderen Interface zu sehen.
Und wenn Du die änderst, bitte auch die bei der aktuellen Platine nicht mehr beschrifteten Lüfter-Lötanschlüsse manuell bezeichnen (+/- etc.).
